CT7 has a focus on the area of “modernisation and system integration” which is strongly related to smart buildings and systems. This includes the smart readiness indicator and demands for smart systems as well as the upgrade of existing technical buildings systems. One of the next large steps in the EPBD implementation will be the entry into force of the requirements on Building Automation and Control system in 2025. A lot of preparation work is still necessary in most member states to have a fully operational regulation by then. Many synergies can be found with the Technical Building System requirements and smart finance.
