Members of the European Commission, representatives of national authorities, building industry experts and EU-funded projects, gathered together in Bucharest on 24 October 2017 at the workshop “Vocational skills for energy efficient buildings”, to present and discuss challenges and opportunities in relation to empowering skills to support the quality of building construction and the rate of building renovation towards NZEB. With about 120 participants in Malta, and even more following the event via live webstreaming, the CA EPBD workshop with panel discussion "Smart Buildings for a greener Europe: Emerging Policy and Practice", organised on 14 February 2017, is considered to be a great success! The event panel included experts from industry, academia and the European Commission to discuss "What are smart buildings?" and "How can they help improve the energy efficiency of Europe's building stock?", as well as to answer a variety of questions raised by participants on site or via twitter/email. With a full room and very active discussions, the EPBD CA Stakeholders meeting “Implementation of the EPBD in Europe | Training and NZEB issues”, held in hotel Bloom in Brussels last Thursday 13 November 2014, is considered a major success. STAKEHOLDERS MEETING EU Sustainable Energy Week, Brussels, 28/6/2013 Under the auspices of the Irish EU Presidency – represented by Mr. Fergus O’Dowd, T.D., Minister of State, Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government of Ireland – the 2012 Book ‘Implementing the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive - Featuring Country Reports’ was handed to Ms. Claudia Canevari, DG Energy, EC during the joint EC - Concerted Action EPBD stakeholders event on the 28th of June 2013. Panel discussions followed between several top experts in the field of the EPBD and the market. The first discussion triggered interest through visionary views on the progress in Building Energy Efficiency in the EU. The next CA-EPBD Stakeholders meeting shall move away from the usual Brussels environment and try to address a larger audience at the well-known World Sustainable Energy Days conference that takes place in early March 2012, in Wels, Austria.
