What are smart buildings? How can they help improve the energy efficiency of Europe’s building stock?

Join experts from industry, academia and the European Commission to discuss these questions in a public workshop in St. Julian’s, Malta. Some of the latest research and innovation in smart buildings will be presented in the context of European policies, notably the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) which is undergoing a review. Around 100 participants will be joined by several hundred more online, as the event will also be streamed live via www.buildup.eu, Europe’s reference portal for energy efficiency in buildings. You are invited to hand in your questions by email to pr@buildup.eu or tweet questions to @EU_BUILDUP using the hashtag #AskBUILDUP. Please hand in your questions latest on Monday 13 February, 10:00.

The workshop will take place the day before the meeting of the EPBD Concerted Action, the closed forum gathering the EU Member States and Norway to discuss implementation of Europe’s legislation on energy performance of buildings.
